Everyone seems well-suited to their role, especially Mia Wasikowska (of Alice in Wonderland fame), but Michael Fassbender (Mr. Rochester) is no Orson Wells.

I've been washing clothes a lot, increasing the pile to unreasonable amounts (unless one has a book on cd to listen to). My plan of attack begins today. Oi! I hate out of control laundry. I'm usually pretty good at keeping it in place, but the holidays threw that off.

I've also been getting really excited for this charity crop I've attended for the past few years. Scrapbooking has been on the back burner for a long time now and I've got some fun catch up to do! I've been pouring over magazines for ideas. I'm really out of the loop. I know this because everything old is new again. Makes me laugh.

I've been listening to two things I've really been enjoying.

1. Brothers by The Black Keys
2. Certain selections from The Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Baz Luhrman films can always be a little quirky/odd, but the strength of the chemistry between Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman comes through, even in their duets. Such a sad story.

Cam and I have enjoyed some quiet evenings together, by-passing our video games (I got Street Fighter IV for Christmas!), and watching Big Bang Theory episodes and we just finished Inception the other night. Someone out there said they couldn't wait for me to see it, but I don't remember who...so my brain is available to pick on this. I did love it. I've also enjoyed laughing out loud with my husband (back to Big Bang Theory). It's a good time.

Anyway, hope all is good for you out there. What are you doing to keep busy?

I suppose that sounds like a title for a post on blessings. Not really. Not exactly...

Cam and I rocked our costumes one more time at the Harry Potter event last night/early this morning.

Here we are with a fun group of kids that thought we were cool (if only for a moment) l to r Hagrid, Gilderoy Lockheart, Snape, Bellatrix, Harry Potter and Hermoine Granger.Now to the rewards...

Cam won really nice tickets to tonight's Jazz game. This is the third time he's won something in the last month. Time to play the Lotto, I guess. LOLMy reward?

I got to handle this lovely Woma Python. It was beautiful. I'd forgotten how relaxing it is to hold these amazing animals. I got to have it slither around my arms for around five minutes. What a treat!

This is why it's important to have fun, even when you're a 'grown-up.'

Well, I've had many wonderful experiences since my last post, and of course, that's always how it goes, especially if you are choosing the better/best things after you turn away from the alternative.

I'm sitting here medicating myself with Karmel Sutra from Ben & Jerry's and with the peace that comes with being with family, being taught and retaught eternal truths and seeing Bryce finally kick the ball during a soccer game. I've nearly finished with my latest amigurumi. We're having crepes for breakfast tomorrow.

I was about to put in a quote here that I really like and then I realized it was from one of my own poems. There's got to be some coolness there.

One of my favorite moments of the day, right after Bryce's kick was that I got to hold my nephew today. As he was sitting on my lap, he suddenly stopped his playing and planted a sweet, squishy infant kiss on my lips without being prompted. How awesome is that?! 9 months and he already knows how to make my day.

Dang this ice cream is good.

I've been practicing the piano. I don't know how to play, really. I've been trying to use the Hymns made easy book and I'm improving, but just yesterday I borrowed The Little Mermaid piano music from the library and I'm doing quite well on "Part of Your World." I hope Ella's impressed. She still loves Ariel.

Cameron has decided that he wants to dress up for Halloween. Yay! He's really gearing for the latest Harry Potter film and has decided to be Severus Snape. His costumer(me) and make-up artist (also me) are really excited. I may go all out and make myself into Bellatrix LeStrange. That'd be wild! I haven't started getting ready for Halloween this early for a long time. Should be a good one.

You've probably never looked and that's fine, but at the very end of my blog (scroll down) there is a list of movies.

Some are quite obscure, but if you're ever looking for something good to watch, I can recommend all, but #2 and #4, without hesitation. Some are comedies, some foreign, but all very good.

So amazing! So touching!
I cried and then some.
This movie is filled with unforgetable moments.
I loved it.

I think the kids liked it too.

I don't know if you've ever been exposed to this film.
It's a film about a kitten and a pug dog and the various situations they get themselves into. The Adventures of Milo and Otis is a quirky Japanese film that was westernized and narrated by Dudley Moore. In multi-voiced characterization, he tells you what a bunch of barn yard and forest animals and doing/saying. It is sweet and simplistic and my kids love it. What surprises me even more is that Dane still loves it. I've honestly been trying to figure out why and it was finally made clear to me yesterday over lunch.

The kids started talking about Milo and Otis and the next thing I knew they were swapping quotes from it like you or I would toss out a "Well, idn't that special?!" or "I'm not dead yet!" or "Doh!". They were cracking, CRACKING up.

So Milo, Otis, I get you now. You're a kid's cult classic! But... I still won't be sitting through a whole viewing.

I'm about to introduce the kids to this manthrough this marvelous medium.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

The movie was an excellent adaptation and was really well done.
That's all you're getting from me cuz I'm operating on less than 3 hrs of sleep.

This was inspired, no doubt, by going to see Up with Dane and me. Another great story from Pixar. Take tissues!
