go this way.

I know many of you know that the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple has been completed and some of you have already seen inside, but my temple update series wouldn't be complete without this final shot...

Since the temple is no longer in seen from my back window (I'm the one who moved, I know) I haven't done my update feature for awhile.

Here is the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

It's still being constructed as indicated by items littered throughout the parking lot, but the Moroni is atop the steeple and the trees have been planted on the grounds. It is beautiful and is an especially beautiful beacon at night when the inside lights are on.

Other exciting news is the opportunity we in the SL valley have to attend the open house for the Utah Draper Temple next month! We are so excited to take our children inside the House of the Lord and let them see the beauty and feel the spirit of that special place.

TEMPLE UPDATE!
I know that angel wasn't there the day before! It's so exciting to see the steeple rising over our area of the Salt Lake Valley. In the photo below, taken from the back, you can seen stone work off to the right. Isn't it beautiful!

My kids get so excited about it. I got quite emotional the other day talking to Dane about attending the open house. I really look forward to that experience with my children.

Here is the latest photo of the Oquirrh Mountain temple.

I haven't done an update since March 10th. It probably just seems like they've only turned the temple yellow, but it's really coming along. The large triangle point to the left is the future steeple. I love the fantastic storm going on behind the structure there.
At night the have the inside lights on and you can easily see it from the Bangerter exit off of I-15. It's very beautiful to see those lights at night.

Although I don't see the temple from my house anymore I get to see it when I pick Ella up from preschool. Today, I saw upward progress! Former views of temple progress, here.

The Oquirrh Mountain temple is moving right along and everyone in the area is very excited.
This first picture is the front view from the new 40th West expanded road.
The second photo is the back of the temple taken from inside the Daybreak community.

We are having a regional conference in October and several members of our stake have been asked to participate in the choir, including myself. The neatest thing, other than it will be in the Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City, but President Hinckley will be attending as well as President Packer.
Dane went to church with my mom yesterday and I asked what they learned about. He said they learned about prophets. Note: this is a perfect parent-teaching moment! The perfect segue to telling him that in a few weeks he would be in the same room with a prophet of God. It was so humbling to see the faith glowing in his eyes and he thought about this experience he was going to have.

It is so exciting to see a temple rise from the ground before our eyes. It's coming along so quickly and with 40th west extending right in front, we get to drive very close to this soon-to-be magnificent structure. From the temple grounds you can see the other 3 temples in the Salt Lake Valley: Salt Lake, Jordan River, and (still under construction) Draper temples. It's quite a fantastic view. It's sad to move away from this, but with such good friendships in the neighborhood we'll still be frequent visitors, during construction. I'm grateful that we'll still be in the temple district, inspiration for very frequent visits, post-dedication!
