to ask a stranger if I could take their photo. I mean, what would be my excuse? Do I say: I think you have an interesting/beautiful/unique face and I love to take pictures?
I often think if I lived in a larger city with more eccentricities, may be I would be brave enough...

I was thinking the same thing as chunk n me. :) I have some cute kids who need their pics taken too.
