daily quote for your perusal

I'm afraid I find this comic somewhat disturbing to my perceptions.
Is this mother/daughter reality?

As a daughter, I assume that my mother is always thrilled to hear from me. (see left frame) However, as a mother, I have felt like the frame on the right (although my kids just call me from the other room and not on the telephone). As much as I want to cry out "My Mother doesn't really love me!" I'm pretty sure that I can be pretty annoying to her as well.

There is definitely a mothering lesson in this for me.

I also want to be a better daughter.

I've been that daughter before. And I've had it reversed too. Of course, it'll all be different when my girls are grown. :)
