&:SEVEN POEMS

III

Spring is like a perhaps hand
(which comes carefully
out of Nowhere)arranging
a window, into which people look (while
people stare
arranging and changing placing
carefully there a strange
thing and a known thing here)and
changing everything carefully
spring is like a perhaps
Hand in a window
(carefully to
and fro moving New and
Old things,while
people stare carefully
moving a perhaps
fraction of flower here placing
an inch of air there)and

without breaking anything.
--e.e. cummings from Tulips and Chimneys

I love e.e. cummings. I think he is a genius. He puts emotion and point and even double meaning into his poems through odd syntax and placement. Love it! Now when does Spring really start coming (carefully, of course)?!

I never really enjoyed poetry until my last lit class in college when I finally had a teacher who did a good job teaching it. Now it's much more fun to read.

What's Wednesday like for you next week? Maybe we can scrap.
